TOUR OVERVIEW
Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Andaman Sea’, Phuket is Thailand’s largest island. The impressive coastline with long sandy beaches in line with stunning rock formations attracts people from all over the world. While that means that some parts of this large island can be very busy, there is still a traditional and authentic side of Phuket with a rich cultural history to discover!
Especially the famous China Town (Phuket’s Old Town) is full of many beautiful examples of Chinese Shrines and Temples, superb renovated Sino-Portuguese architecture, small shops with a wide variety of arts and crafts plus many small cafés and restaurants with delicious food!
MONA’s Phuket Experience is different
This is not your standard ‘Phuket Shopping & Sightseeing’ tour. . . we focus on the culture and therefore we skip all the big shopping centers. While we explore Phuket’s old town with the historic buildings, shops and cafés, there are so many nice little shops where you can find arts and crafts ‘Made in Thailand’ that a bit of shopping automatically happens. On special request we also can stop at certain shops of interest like a ‘Cashewnut Shop’.
We continue with the visit of Wat Chalong, one of the most important temples in South Thailand, and the famous Big Buddha. Big Buddha is very impressive, although it is not completed yet, and the view is absolutely stunning!
After we dived into the city and temple culture for a few hours, it’s now time to relax at a powdery white sandy beach with swimming, snorkeling or just taking a little nap.
After enjoying the sunset we make our way back to Khao Lak.
A tiring day but absolutely worth it!
