TOUR OVERVIEW
For people who want to see something different to Khao Lak, visiting Phuket is of particular interest. It reflects impressively all the contrasts between the comfortable quiet Khao Lak and the activity-rich tourist hotspots. Phuket is packed with top 5 star hotels, amazing temples, a big shopping center collection, with malls open until midnight, and unique street markets, where night owls and early birds can satisfy their appetite.
Experience the ‘Pearl of the Andaman Sea’ in all its facets: The MONA Special Tour 4 in 1 makes it happen!
We thoroughly thought about how we could familiarize our guests with the Thai lifestyle and in the meantime show them the amazing nature and the legendary nightlife of Patong.
Phuket is a place for adventure, culture, fun and relaxation. . . you shouldn’t miss this experience!
The special advantage of the overnight stay is that we have our own time management. We can visit some highlights in the afternoon when most of the tourists are already in the minivan on the way back to Khao Lak. Because of the enormous travel time savings we managed to include 4 different tours in this 2-day round-trip:
The first day is the same as the Phuket Daytrip. What is called “original” in Khao Lak is dedicated to tourist consumption. As far as tourism is concerned, Phuket shows something else. Here are the locals predominantly originating from southern China and they dominate the daily life, especially in the old town of Phuket. Therefore, the entire morning belongs to the visit of the ethnic culture in all its diversity which can be experienced especially on the famous weekly markets and countless lovely colonial shops. While the street atmosphere in Khao Lak is characterized by simplicity, the whole Asian culture opens up in Phuket Town.
After we dived into the city and temple culture for a few hours, it’s time to relax at a powdery white sandy beach with swimming, snorkeling or just taking a little nap. Once we enjoyed the sunset we start into the second tour of the day, Phuket Night Explorer, by checking into our hotel.
Our overnight stay is a real highlight of this tour!
You can stay in the center of Patong at The Marina, a hotel with a rooftop swimming pool and spectacular views over Phuket. Visit hotel website It is only a short walk to the Jungceylon Mall, Patong Beach and Bangla Road, the center of Patongs beating nightlife with late-night bars, the best DJs competing, streets always alive with music, night markets, girly bars, and world-famous clubs. It’s a great and special place to party the night away! Especially hip at the moment is the exclusive nightclub ‘Illuzion’ (which has recently become one of the 100 best clubs in the world, according to the International DJ magazine) and since we don’t need to return to Khao Lak tonight, it’s up to you how long you want to join the party!
The alternative for guests who want a bit more peace and relaxation after the Phuket adventure is the Secret Cliff Resort. This is an idyllic resort, built into the hillside of the rugged coastline between Karon and Patong, with a great panoramic view over the sea and Phuket. Visit hotel website
The second day is very special again, as we also benefit from big time savings here.
We assume that the activities of the previous day, including the nightlife were a bit exhausting. Therefore, after the luxurious overnight stay, including a nice breakfast, we offer the second day as a day to relax.
Phuket is surrounded by some dream islands which we also have on our program for this day.
We start our Snorkel Tour between 7:30 and 8:00 with a 30-minute drive to a private pier, so we arrive at the exclusive private island Maiton before everybody else does. Our boat is a small speedboat for maximum 20 passengers but we will only have an average of 15 guests on board.
The entire morning you can relax and unwind on the white sandy beach and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters with rich coral and marine life.
We do 3 relaxed snorkel stops and take our lunch on the beautiful island Naka Yai.
Off we go to Hong Island, where we change to a slow-paced traditional longtail boat to further explore the Phang Nga Bay. The longtail boat gives you a completely different feeling and we can drive to hidden places that make the experience of nature unique.
The program includes canoeing at Hong Island and Panak Island, a short photo stop at the James Bond rock, a walk on Koh Panyee (the village on stilts) and an excursion through the mangrove forests to the pier where our minivan (with our overnight luggage) already awaits us.
